The Open Door is Evanescence’s second studio album, released in 2006 as the follow-up to their breakout debut Fallen. Marking a creative step forward for the band, the album expands their core alternative metal and gothic rock sound with broader sonic elements, including symphonic arrangements, electronic textures, and piano-driven compositions.

 

The album debuted at#1 on the Billboard 200, selling over 447,000 copies in its first week, and reached #1 in multiple international territories while landing in the Top 5 across more than 15 countries. It has since sold over 6 million copies worldwide and is certified 2x Platinum in the U.S.



The campaign was anchored by the lead single “Call Me When You’re Sober,” a Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 hit, followed by “Lithium,” “Sweet Sacrifice,” and “Good Enough.” The album also earned critical recognition, including a Grammy nomination for “Sweet Sacrifice” and major international award wins.

Marking 20 years of The Open Door, this deluxe edition revisits Evanescence’s 2006 sophomore studio album, featuring singles including “Call Me When You’re Sober,” “Lithium,” “Sweet Sacrifice,” and “Good Enough.” The expanded release includes four bonus tracks drawn from B‑sides and rarities, including a demo version of “Good Enough."
