Andrew Hill

Andrew Hill Official Vinyl & Music Collection

Explore the brilliant, boundary-pushing mind of one of jazz’s greatest composers and pianists with the official Andrew Hill collection at Universal Music Store South Africa. A towering figure in the post-bop and avant-garde movements, Andrew Hill helped define the adventurous spirit of Blue Note Records in the 1960s. Whether you are a seasoned jazz audiophile or building your first essential vinyl collection, our curated selection of Andrew Hill records is an absolute must-have.

Considered by Blue Note founder Alfred Lion to be as strikingly original as Thelonious Monk, Andrew Hill crafted music that was intellectually complex yet deeply rhythmic and emotionally resonant. Working alongside heavyweights like Eric Dolphy, Joe Henderson, and Bobby Hutcherson, Hill’s compositions broke away from traditional hard bop, favoring mercurial rhythms, asymmetrical structures, and profound harmonic depth. Experience the genius of his legendary quintets and sextets on the highest quality analog formats available.
